I have been thinking about freedom vs. money, higher education and careers, whether or not I would want to be an acupuncturist, and about how glad I am that it is becoming autumn

Question: “What foods do you cherish most, the sweets or the sours?”
View this question's page
Answer: Oh, beloved sweet things. I have had a sweet-tooth since childhood but I appreciate sour flavors more and more as I grow up.   The sweet flavor is so comforting, and it represents affection in so many ways.  I love making desserts for people and I also love dreaming up what I will bake for them.  Just the other night my roommates tried to cheer me up from my chemistry homework-induced stress by making me strawberry shortcake at 10 pm--and I was so moved by that!  Sour flavors seem to promote good health--I love Thai tom yum soup for curing a cold, and I use a lot of vinegar and citrus in cooking.
Question: “What family traditions will you carry on to your own family?”

Answer: We don't have a lot of family traditions, but we were always great about eating dinner together.
Question: “What did you most recently change your mind about?”

Answer: While being on a 5 day driving trip with my family to Texas for a funeral, I have started to see how my issues with my parents can be in large part from my perceptions.   I see the validity in that approaching them in these ways keeps them stuck and keeps me blaming them and will never lead to a good resolution.   It is hard to try and change my perspective when on some level I want to take the easy way out...I have my work cut out for me...but I want things to improve between us.
